“Fermate del Pane” – Ferrara: a jorney through Artisanal Breads and Local Flavors

As part of the European Project Festival 2024, held in Ferrara from April 4th to 6th, 2024 the Fermate del Pane initiative introduced visitors to one of the city’s most iconic culinary traditions: Coppia Ferrarese bread. This annual festival, dedicated to key European themes, focused this year on youth engagement in building the future of Europe

Throughout the event, the Fermate del Pane team, alongside students from the Vergani Navarra Institute, showcased the Coppia Ferrarese, offering visitors the opportunity to taste this renowned bread and explore its deep-rooted history. The initiative was made possible through a collaboration between KOOR Srl Benefit Corporation, Officine Europa APS, and the historic Bottega del Pane of the Musacci family, whose expertise in traditional baking brought authenticity to the experience.

With its distinctive shape and centuries-old heritage, Coppia Ferrarese stands as a symbol of Ferrara’s rich baking culture. The festival provided a unique platform to highlight the craftsmanship, tradition, and cultural significance behind this artisanal bread, reinforcing its role in shaping local identity and fostering appreciation for regional gastronomy.
