The Breads of the Creative Cities project has been selected to be presented at the stands in the Partnership Corner of the Creative Cities Fair, a central inter-city event of the XVII UCCN Annual Conference, held in Enghien-les-Bains, France, on June 24th, 2025. This was an important opportunity to connect, share experiences, and build new collaborations with cities from all over the world.
The sixth edition brought together 67 UNESCO Creative Cities across all 7 creative fields, collecting 95 traditional bread recipes and stories that reflect the diverse cultures and food heritage of each participating territory.
The 2025 key outcomes, presented during the showcase stage by Jonathan Mabri, focal point of Tucson City of Gastronomy, include:
- The release of the new edition of the “Breads of the Creative Cities” book, which gives voice to bakers, millers, and farmers whose work keeps local traditions alive.
- The launch of the completely redesigned website, offering easier access to project updates, participation guidelines, and the growing archive of bread stories.
- The inclusion of new cities and unique bread varieties, enriching the project’s network and reinforcing its role as a cultural bridge between communities.
This opportunity was also the occasion to engage in meaningful dialogue, highlight the project’s evolution, and extend an open invitation for future collaborations with other Creative Cities.
