Breads of the Creative Cities BOOK (ED. 2025)

We’re excited to announce the release of the sixth edition of the “Breads of the Creative Cities book, which had its world premiere during the XVII UCCN Annual Conference in Enghien-les-Bains, France, on June 23rd-24th, 2025. 

The 2025 edition brings together 67 UNESCO Creative Cities and features 95 traditional bread recipes. The book celebrates the creativity of bakers, millers, and farmers across all seven creative fields of the Network, offering a rich portrait of how bread continues to unite communities and preserve local identities. 

This new edition includes: 

  • Fresh contributions from participating cities: Thessaloniki, Geelong and Belo Horizonte 
  • New participating cities: Nkongsamba (Cameroon) and Slemani (Iraq) 
  • New bread varieties from Africa and the Middle East 
  • A thoughtfully updated design and structure for easier reading and reference
