“Le Rotte del Pane”: celebrating Tradition and Culture of Italian Bread in Jeddah

During the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour stop in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) from January 27th–30th, 2025, Francesco Carusi—renowned for his work at the historic Antico Mulino Pandolfo in Carrara, Tuscany—embodied the commitment to promoting Italian bread and the artisanal traditions of Tuscany. Carusi collaborated with the ship’s culinary team to create iconic breads from the Tuscan tradition, including famous loaves like the Pan di Carrara.

Aligned with its mission, Breads of the Creative Cities proudly embraces the Rotte del Pane project, as both initiatives share a common goal: uniting people through the universal language of bread. More than just a staple food, bread serves as a powerful symbol of peace, heritage, and connection across cultures worldwide.
