During the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour stop in Doha (Qatar) from December 17th–22nd, 2024, Donato Taronna, the renowned baker from Monte Sant’Angelo – named the 2024 City of Culture for the Puglia region – embodied the commitment to promoting Italian bread and the artisanal roots of Puglia. Master baker Taronna collaborated with the ship’s culinary team to create iconic breads from the Puglia tradition, including the “Dormento” from Ginosa, the “Far’nédd” from Castellaneta, and the Casareccio bread from Laterza.
Aligned with its mission Breads of the Creative Cities proudly embraces the Rotte del Pane project, as both initiatives share a common goal: uniting people through the universal language of bread. More than just a staple food, bread serves as a powerful symbol of peace, heritage, and connection across cultures worldwide.
