During the Breads of the Creative Cities Meeting, held at A1 Bakery in Brunswick, Melbourne, the traditional baker Haikal Farah was honored with a certificate recognizing his dedication to preserving and innovating bread-making traditions.
With deep roots in Lebanon and a strong connection to the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, Zahlé, Haikal Farah and A1 Bakery provided the perfect setting for this meaningful gathering. The meeting explored the role of the Lebanese diaspora in shaping Australia’s bread-making landscape, emphasizing the cultural exchanges that have influenced generations of bakers.
This event, part of the Breads of the Creative Cities initiative, underscored the profound impact of shared heritage on culinary traditions and the bread supply chain. We sincerely thank Kevin Murray and all participants for their contributions.
