Breads of the Creative Cities Meeting in Carrara, Italy

The bakery “Antico Mulino Pandolfo”, one of the most ancient bakeries in Carrara, UNESCO Creative City of Crafts & Folk Art was awarded a Certificate of Merit for its expertise and craftsmanship in traditional staple foods during the Breads of the Creative Cities Meeting, an initiative within the Breads of the Creative Cities project. The certificate was presented by Creative Knowledge Foundation and Tucson City of Gastronomy, with the presence of Francesco De Pasquale, Mayor of the City.

Breads of the Creative Cities, the first inter-cluster project of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, launched in 2018 by the Creative Knowledge Foundation in partnership with Tucson UCC, celebrates the diversity of local staple foods through bread as a symbol of cultural identity. It showcases stories, traditions, and practices from Creative Cities worldwide, giving voice to bakers, millers, and farmers.
